The Carolina Panthers will be without Christian McCaffrey because of a hamstring injury, but Matt Rhule says the offensive plan will remain the same.

Chuba Hubbard is expected to get a majority of the work in CMC's absence.

Josh Gordon isn't expected to play for the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday, a few days after signing with the team.

"It's gonna take awhile," Andy Reid said. "It's probably not gonna be this week."

Gordon, 30, was reinstated from suspension for substance abuse problems on Monday. He signed with Kansas City's practice squad on Tuesday.

The wide receiver has been suspended six times in his career, including for the entirety of three seasons (2015, 2016, 2020).

The Denver Broncos are 3-0 for the first time since 2016 and Melvin Gordon believes the team is just getting started.

"We believe that we can be special. We're not just saying it," Gordon said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "You know, I think that's the difference: We were just saying it last year. We actually believe that we can be special. We know we can be special."

While the Broncos are undefeated, they've faced a trio of teams that are winless through Week 3 -- the New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports is hinting that developments may be coming on Deshaun Watson's future.

Glazer reported on Sunday that the Houston Texans may be softening their stance regarding the expectations for a trade of the quarterback.

On Wednesday, Glazer tweeted: "Keep your eyes on this situation."

The Miami Dolphins have often been linked to Watson in trade rumors.

Gayle Benson and New Orleans Saints officials have outlined the team's long-term succession plans in detail for the first time.

The plan is that the franchise would be sold with the goal of keeping the team in New Orleans and distributing the proceeds to charity.

The arrangement, which has been approved by the NFL, is similar to what happened after Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson died in 2014 and the team was later sold to Terry and Kim Pegula.

"I can't take it with me," said Benson, who replaced her late husband Tom Benson as owner in 2018 and has no heirs of her own. "God gives us gifts, and this is a gift. I am a steward for this [organization]. And we help other people with it. My wish is to scatter all the good and gifts that God and Tom have given me to this city and community."

A new book by Seth Wickersham called "It's Better To Be Feared" revealed the inner workings of the New England Patriots that dominated the NFL from 2001 to 2019. The book specifically illuminates the power dynamics between Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. 

Wickersham writes that Brady ultimately left New England not only because both Belichick and Kraft refused to commit to him until his stated goal of playing until age 45, but also because he wanted to be with a franchise that welcomed his input. 

"Tom Brady had been curious if there was another way of winning, and while nobody was arguing that Bruce Arians was a better coach than Bill Belichick, or even close, the seamlessness of Brady's proficiency and performance was making his former coach's methodologies look antiquated, even silly," the book says. "It was better to be feared -- but was it necessary?"

As examples of what the dynasty wrought, Wickersham writes that Kraft once called Belichick the "biggest f----ng a--hole in my life."

In 2018, the trio were trying to set aside grievances in order to remain victorious. 

"Brady was tired of taking team-friendly deals with no input into how the money saved was spent -- and still wanted a long-term contractual commitment," Wickersham writes. "Belichick told associates that every organizational decision now was in support of Brady, geared toward pleasing him and making him successful -- and that Kraft meddled with the team, sometimes with opinions, sometimes with restrictive budgets.

"As for Kraft, in late September, he was in Aspen [Colorado] for a conference and bumped into a few friends in the hotel lobby early one morning. He told them he was leaving later for Detroit, where the Patriots were playing their next game. 'I hate leaving here,' Kraft said. 'You leave here and you leave some of the most brilliant people you've ever met. You pick up so much knowledge from all these brilliant minds. And I have to go to Detroit to be with the biggest f-----ng a--hole in my life -- my head coach.' "

"Bill was an idiot savant," Kraft told a confidant, according to the book, alluding to Belichick's reputation before he hired the former Cleveland Browns coach in 2000. "I gave him this opportunity."

The Indianapolis Colts and Marlon Mack have mutually agreed to seek a trade, according to a report.

Mack has become the odd man out at running back behind Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines.

The fifth-year man rushed for 1,091 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019 as the Colts' primary rusher.

Tom Brady continues to discuss just how long he'll play quarterback in the NFL.

In an interview with Wall Street Journal Magazine, Brady confirmed that he'll definitely play through the 2022 season.

"Beyond that, I don’t know," Brady said. "Maybe it's another year after that; maybe it's two. I'll have to see where I'm at with my family. That's probably the overriding factor — what I’m missing out on."

The Chicago Bears are getting closer toward moving out of Solider Field.

According to a report, the Bears have signed a purchase agreement for property in Arlington Heights that could serve as the location for a new stadium.

The Bears have a lease at Soldier Field that runs through 2033; however, they reportedly could buy their way out of it in 2026 with a payment of $84 million.

Despite a 1-2 start and stagnant offense, Mike Tomlin isn't ready to hit the panic button for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"We're not going to push the panic button," Tomlin said. "What do I mean by the panic button? We're not going to dramatically change who and what we are at this juncture.

"We're not resistant to change for the purposes of getting better, but we're not going to be so unsteady that we move away from our compass, our identity that we've worked hard to develop -- and will continue to work hard to develop -- and the emphasis on the style of play, whatever that may be in all three phases."

The Steelers rank last in the NFL with just 159 rushing yards through three weeks. Ben Roethlisberger has a QBR of 35.5, which ranks 28th in the league.
